Witness Appeal After Nuneaton Kidnap

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a 67-year-old man was charged with kidnap in Nuneaton.

They launched an investigation following reports of a 37-year-old man being taken from an address in St Nicholas Road, Nuneaton at 10pm on Tuesday 16 May.

Following contact with the man’s relatives, an extensive hunt was launched, as it was believed that the man had been kidnapped.

He was traced to a house in Smethwick, Birmingham the next day.

Three men and a woman were arrested and interviewed at a police station following the discovery of the man.

Samtokh Singh Dee, aged 67, appeared before magistrates in Nuneaton yesterday afternoon, charged with kidnap. The others were released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives investigating the incident are appealing for witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious in St Nicholas Road at the time to come forward.

They are particularly eager to hear from anyone who may have seen a light blue Volvo saloon in the street.

People with information should call police on 024 7664 1111 or if they want to remain anonymous Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
