An eight-year-old boy was thrown from his bike and sat on by a youth who robbed him of his money.

The lad was in Mercer Park in Barras Green in Coventry at 5.30pm yesterday when he was set upon.

A youth aged around 16 threatened to beat the youngster up if he didn’t hand over some money.

The frightened boy gave the attacker 20 pence, but was pushed to the ground.

His assailant then sat on him and physically searched him, and took more money.

The offender was wearing a yellow and blue coat, navy blue jeans, Kicker shoes and was riding a yellow mountain bike.
