[27 JUN 00] CRIMES, FIRES & ACCIDENTS
Young Yobs Targeted Following Missile Attacks

Two 12-year-old boys have been reported for anti-social behaviour by police following a crackdown on young yobs in the Stoke Heath area of Coventry.

The youngsters were picked up during a five-hour operation in Burlington Road, which started at 5pm yesterday.

Police mounted the crusade following complaints of missiles being thrown off the footbridge crossing Phoenix Way.

There have also been a number of incidents of minor damage being caused to cars in the area.

A group of children aged between nine and 15 is thought to be involved.

Sgt Graham Cramp said the operations would continue.

He added:

“Two 12-year-old boys have been reported for public order offences and a certain amount of intelligence was obtained that might lead to further arrests.

“I would urge residents who have any information about anti-social behaviour to call police on 024 7653 9040.”
