Schoolgirl airlifted to hospital after road crash

A schoolgirl was airlifted to hospital after she was in collision with a car outside Harris C of E secondary school in Rugby.

Samantha Bray, aged 12, was taken to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital with suspected head injuries. It later emerged she had a broken leg and a sore lip, and was detained in hospital.

Samantha, who lives at Wood Farm, Willey, was in collision with a car driven by Caroline Walker, aged 27 of Selbourne Road, Rugby, who was uninjured.

The accident happened on Tuesday afternoon near the junction of Overslade Lane and Harris Drive. Police closed roads leading to congestion in the area at the end of the school day.
