A Coventry man was left 'very shaken' after he was robbed of a £190 gold chain snatched from around his neck.

He was walking through Hillfields when he was set on around 10.30pm on Thursday.

A police spokesman said:

“As the victim walked along Nicholls Street, a man came up behind him and put a sharp object in his back and demanded money.

“The weapon was not seen and the victim was not injured. The offender snatched the man’s neck chain breaking it, and ran off with it.”

He got away with a gold 18-inch chain with a pendant.

The robber is described as mixed race, in his early or mid 20s, about 5ft 8in, with black shaved hair wearing blue jeans, a black sweatshirt with white trainers.
