Sawn-off Shot Gun Raiders Strike At Club

Masked men armed with sawn-off shot guns terrorised staff at a Coventry club early this morning.

One man needed five stitches after being hit on the head with the butt of a gun by the raiders at the ROAB club in Foleshill.

The staff, two men and a woman, were preparing to leave at 12.30am when the attackers burst in and forced them back in the building.

They stole money from gaming machines and cigarettes, and lashed out at one of the men. He was later treated at Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital.

They then escaped after stealing one of the staff’s members red Daewoo.

Police appealed to anyone who saw them escaping, or who knows where the car now is to contact them

A spokesman said:

“This was a nasty crime and these two men are obviously very dangerous.

“We need the public’s help in order to stop these from attacking again.”

Both attackers were white and about 5ft 10ins and stocky build. They both had dark trousers and dark balaclavas and spoke with a local accent.

The first offender was wearing a dark coat or anorak and had blue trainers with white soles. He wore a baseball cap over his balaclava.

His accomplice was also wearing a dark anorak. Anyone with information should call detectives at Stoney Stanton Road on 024 7653 9020 ext 6538.
