Newsagents Ablaze In Arson Attack

A Coventry newsagents shop was badly damaged and its occupant burned when arsonists set fire to the building early today.

The attack happened in Nickson Avenue in Tile Hill at 5.50am at Terry’s Newsagents.

Police said a bottle filled with flammable liquid was thrown into the building, causing a bad fire to break out.

A 48-year-old man suffered burns to his legs and was treated for his wounds in hospital.

DC Paul Jones said:

“This is being treated as arson with intent to endanger life.”

He appealed to anyone with information about the incident to call 024 7653 9010.
