[23 OCT 00] CRIMES, FIRES & ACCIDENTS
£1m Heroin Seizure In Coventry

Police made their second high-value seizure of drugs believed to be heroin when a car was examined in a Coventry street.

Officers from the National Crime Squad in Rugby found 15kg of heroin in a BMW parked in Tulliver Street, Radford on Friday at 6.30pm.

The packages are believed to have a street value of £1m.

A man was arrested and was released on police bail.

DCI Kelvin Robert, of the National Crime Squad, said:

“We are delighted to have stopped the distribution of such a large amount of Class A drugs and the streets of Coventry and the West Midlands, and also to have disrupted the criminal activity that would have undoubtedly been behind this service.”

Anyone who saw anyone driving or using the BMW should call police on 024 7653 9020.
