Drowned Man Found In City River Is Named

A body that was discovered floating in the River Sherbourne last week has been identified.

James Baker, aged 37, was discovered on Friday by a man walking his dog in Lake View Park in Chapelfields.

Police carried out searched in the area to try and find out who he was. Mr Baker originally came from Leicester, but had recently been living in Coventry.

A post-mortem examination revealed that he died from drowning.

Although there were no suspicious circumstances, police are appealing for anyone who knows anything about Mr Baker’s movements between Saturday 28 October and last Friday to contact them on 024 7653 9010.
