Pedestrian Sent Flying Through Window

A pedestrian was sent flying through a shop window after he was hit by a car which crashed in Warwick town centre yesterday.

Ian Johnson, aged 42, of St Michael’s Road suffered cuts and bruises after he was catapulted by a red Mini Metro shortly before 4pm.

He was sent crashing into the laminated glass window of Claridge’s store, in Market Square, which smashed.

The Metro, driven by Lousie Brookes, aged 20, of Woodloes Park hit him after colliding with a silver Renault 25.

Ms Brookes suffered whiplash and bruising to her legs. The Renault, driven by John Savage, aged 76, of Myton Road was taken to Warwick Hospital and was detained for treatment.
