Elderly Woman Killed On Country Road

An elderly woman died today after the car in which she was travelling crashed near Rugby.

The accident happened on the B4112 near Wolvey at the junction between Bulkington Road and Withybrooke Road at 8.30am.

Two cars were involved in the crash, a Rover and a BMW.

A pensioner who was a passenger in the Rover died. Police have not yet named her as her next-of-kin have not yet been informed.

The driver of the two cars were taken to the George Eliot hospital with minor injuries. Any witnesses should call 01926 415000.
