Gas Main Ruptured As Car Hits House

Roads had to be sealed off while emergency repairs were carried out after a car crashed into a gas main on the side of a house.

The crash happened in Stoneleigh Road, Bubbenhall, near Leamington at 10am on Friday.

A Mercedes car lost control and hit the side of house, rupturing the main. The area had to be evacuated and roads including the A445 closed while Transco carried out repairs.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. He was released on police bail pending further inquiries.
