[11 DEC 00] CRIMES, FIRES & ACCIDENTS
11-Year-Old Robbed Of Shoes At Gun Point

A young boy was robbed of money and his trainers at gun-point in Coventry city centre yesterday.

The 11-year-old from Stoke Heath was outside the Museum of British Road Transport in Hales Street at 4pm when he was attacked.

Two older lads, believed to be aged about 14, pointed the gun at the boy and demanded that he give them money.

He handed over £8 and they then told him to give them his new trainers. They took the shoes and then ran off.

Police say the frightened boy thought the gun was a pellet gun. They are appealing for witnesses to call Little Park Street police station on 024 7653 9010.
