Coventry Man Killed On City Road 

Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was killed on a Coventry road at the weekend.

Paul Fletcher, aged 36, suffered serious injuries following the collision with a Vauxhall Frontera on Saturday at 6.05pm.

The accident happened on London Road at the junction with Abbey Road.

Mr Fletcher was taken to Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old man from Coventry, was not injured. Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward, or anyone who saw the car before the accident as it drove down London Road away from the city centre.
