Man Robbed At Gunpoint In City Street

A 22-year-old Coventry man was held at gunpoint in the street yesterday and robbed of his laptop computer.

The incident happened in Melbourne Road, Earlsdon, at the junction with Broomfield Place in Coventry last night between 6.20pm and 6.40pm.

The offender walked past the man from behind and then turned to stand in front of the victim.

He then pulled out a black handgun and demanded that the computer be handed over.

The offender is described as a black man, aged between 25-30 and of medium build. He was wearing a brown sweat top with a hood and his face was covered with white material.

He stole a Compaq laptop computer and a Sony mobile phone.

Police are appealing for witnesses following this incident and anyone with any information can call officers on 024 7633 6520 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
