Man Attacks Terrified Coventry Girl

A 12-year-old girl is now too scared to leave her house after a man tried to drag her off a Coventry road into a clearing.

The girl was on her way to a local youth club and was in Hollyfast Road, Coundon, at about 6pm on Wednesday when she became aware of a man behind her.

As she reached a clearing opposite Norman Place Road, the man grabbed her from behind.

He tried to drag her into the clearing but the girl struggled and kicked and hit out at him.

He let her go and she fell to the ground and the man then ran off.

The girl suffered a twisted ankle and was very upset and shaken by her ordeal.

The man is about 5ft 10ins, stocky build, wearing a black hooded top, dark trousers and white trainers.

PC Fran George at Little Park Street police station said:

"It was a terrifying experience for this young girl who is now too scared to go out. We would like to hear from anyone who has any information about who the offender might be."
