City Bus Driver Punched By Abusive Drunk

An abusive scruffy man who appeared drunk attacked a bus driver as he got off the vehicle in Coventry.

The attacker got on the Travel West Midlands bus at 2.15pm on Monday 29 January from outside the Belgrade Theatre in Upper Well Street.

The number seven bus was going from the city centre to Brownshill Green.

He was dropped off about 15 minutes later in Brownshill Green and before getting off the bus, he punched the 30-year-old driver, from Coventry, on the cheek, causing reddening and bruising.

The driver then got up out of his seat and he ejected the man off the vehicle.

The offender is a white male, in his mid 40s, 5ft 7ins tall, medium build. He had dirty black hair which was going grey, a black beard and appeared drunk. He was also very abusive and scruffy.
