[16 FEB 01] CRIMES, FIRES & ACCIDENTS
Coventry Pub Attacked By Raiders

Gaming machines were smashed up by crooks during a raid on a Coventry pub.

Police are appealing for information after a burglary at The Old Shepherd and Shepherdess in Keresley Road, Keresley.

The incident happened on Tuesday at about 7.05am when three offenders broke into the back of the pub and then smashed up two bandit machines inside.

They stole about £300 from the machines and then fled.

The offenders are believed to have had their faces covered, possibly with stockings, and were carrying a torch.

There have been a number of these types of offences recently and detectives are examining whether they are linked.

Anyone who saw anything around the pub on that morning, or has any information about who the offenders might be, is urged to contact Sgt Abbott at Radford police station on 02476 591171 or 024 7653 9020.
