Gun And Knife Threat At City Newsagents

A woman was threatened with a gun and a knife before being dragged by her hair and forced to hand over money at the Coventry newsagents where she worked.

She opened up at GT News in Hipswell Highway, Wyken, at 4.45am on Monday and went to the back of the building to collect the newspapers.

Two men were waiting for her and grabbed her. One was armed with a hand gun, the other had a knife.

They dragged the victim back into the shop and forced her to hand over cash before leaving.

The first man is white, in his mid-20s, stocky build and wore a balaclava and dark trousers, a dark top and gloves.

His accomplice is mixed race is in his early 20s and wore a dark maroon hooded jacket, a dark blue scarf and dark jeans.

Witnesses should call detectives on 024 7653 9040.
