Man Attacked In Ansty Road

A 24 year old Coventry man was attacked with a concrete post in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The incident happened around 12.30am as the victim walked along Ansty Road near the junction with Hipswell Highway.

Two men approached the victim, one hit him over the head with a 2ft by 6in concrete temporary fence stand, he was then struck a second time to his right shoulder with an unknown weapon.

Both offenders, white men in their 20s, then escaped.

The victim suffered a large cut to his head which required several stitches, and a small cut and swelling to his shoulder following the incident.

Police at Chace Avenue are investigating the incident and are appealing for anyone with information or anyone who may have seen the attack to contact them on 0845 113 5000 and ask for police at Chace Avenue.
