Woman Attacked In City Centre

A 36 year old Coventry woman was attacked and robbed in Coventry city centre on Monday evening.

The incident happened at 10.30pm as the woman was walking along The Burges towards Cross Cheaping.

She was approached from behind and punched in the head and ribs. She fell to the floor and the offender then stole her handbag before escaping.

The woman suffered a fractured left rib cage as a result of the attack.

The stolen handbag contained £80 cash.

There is no description of the attacker.
