Smash And Grab At Coventry Jewellers

A jewellers in Coventry was hit by smash and grab robbers yesterday evening.

The incident happened at about 5.10pm yesterday evening at Cash Converters in Longfellow Road, Coventry.

Two offenders pulled up outside the store on a red, white and blue Honda 600 motorcycle.

They then smashed a plate glass window of the shop with a sledgehammer. One offender grabbed items of jewellery which were on display whilst the other one threatened staff with the sledgehammer.

The two then got back onto the motorbike and rode off with a haul of jewellery worth several thousand pounds.

No one was injured in the incident.

The first offender was 5ft 10in, of medium build and was wearing a white motorcycle helmet and black leather jacket. He spoke with a local accent.

The other one was the same height, also of medium build, and wearing a dark coloured motorcycle helmet and black jacket.

Police at Chace Avenue are investigating. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information about the motorcycle or who the offenders might be is asked to call 0845 113 5000 and ask for Willenhall CID.
