[02 OCT 00] CWN PRESS RELEASE
Looking For A Job? Look At CovJobs

A ground-breaking new website advertising job vacancies throughout Coventry and Warwickshire has been launched by CWN today.

Posters advertising CovJobs have been unveiled at billboards through the area today.

The site – www.covjobs.co.uk - is the first recruitment site in the area and will offer cheaper advertising for employers than other options.

The Dog With A JobThe website will feature the Dog With A Job, who will appear in future CWN projects.

Vacancies stay on the website for four weeks. All vacancies can be advertised free until the end of November and will cost £150 each afterwards.

Centred in Coventry, CovJobs will eventually incorporate Leamington Spa, Warwick, Kenilworth, Rugby, Stratford and Solihull.

Project Manager Kate Pittel said:

“The benefits of recruitment advertising on-line are becoming more and more apparent to employers.

“It is a pro-active medium - candidates can take responsibility for looking for their next career move, rather than waiting passively for newspaper ads to appear.

“Candidates can access the web twenty four hours a day, seven days a week and a staggering 75 per cent of ABC1's have already searched the web for their next position or will do next time.”

CWN managing director Chris Studman said CovJobs will offer a far more realistic and flexible pricing structure than national recruitment websites, which often charge an annual fee.

He said:

“For smaller companies who may only have one or two vacancies a year, CovJobs offers the opportunity to pay for a job at a time.

“For larger companies whose recruitment needs may be greater, multiple vacancy discounts are available.

“At the moment, advertising in the regional press is very expensive, but Coventry companies find they have no alternative.

“CovJobs is a cost-effective alternative, and with the onset of television internet access and WAP phones, it will prove itself to be the correct media for all types of jobs.”

Employers wishing to place a job vacancy on CovJobs should call Kate on 024 7663 0653 or email kate@covjobs.co.uk
