August Air Show For Baginton

It will be back to the 50s with an airshow at Baginton next month.

Organisers say the first event last year went down well, and this one will be even better.

Put together by Air Atlantique, that runs Coventry Airport, the attractions will include: Big Pistons, classis airliners, 50s Jets, classic aircraft, cars and trucks, pleasure flying in Dakota Twin Pioneer.

There will also be a Glenn-Miller style orchestra and mini playgrounds for children,

Some 15,000 visitors are expected at the show running on 12 and 13 August.

Chris Warner, from Centre-Stage Promotions, helping to publicise the event, said:

“Last year’s one-day air show event proved to be a magnificent success both for aviation enthusiasts and for families just looking for a great day out.

“This year, we have decided to open for Saturday and Sunday with practice and pleasure flying day on Saturday, including a mini air display and then the full-blown air show on Sunday.

“The Saturday event will be a short show with the practice display, and there will be aircraft arriving for the main show the following day.”

There is the opportunity for trade stands and side-shows and of companies to rent hospitality facilities for corporate groups.

There is a range of ticket prices, including £8 for adults on Saturday when gates open at 11am (£6 in advance) – or £15 on the gate on Sunday (£12.50 in advance) when gates open at 10am.
