West Midlands Regional Development Agengy BoardCoventry
& Warwickshire Partnerships Ltd, the area's economic development partnership company,
is pleased to hear of the announcement of RDA Board members and that one, Professor Kumar
Bhattacharyya is locally based, at Warwick University.
CWP looks forward to working with all the RDA Board
members and their staff, when in place in April next year, to ensure that the area's
views, successes and concerns on economic development issues are well-understood. CWP has
coordinated the production of the Economic Strategy for Coventry and Warwickshire (March
1998) and has just published a more detailed ‘Action Priorities' to ensure the
Strategy is followed through. We will wish to ensure that the new RDA Board takes our
economic strategy and priorities into account in its work next year.
Trevor Cornfoot, CWP's Manager said of the announcement of
the RDA Board membership:
"The creation of the West Midlands RDA is now
progressing. We look forward to working with the new RDA Board and its staff throughout
1999 to ensure that the needs and successes of Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull are
appropriately reflected in its work".
NOTES:
- The Board members of the West Midlands Regional Development
Agency was announced late yesterday (14 December). One Board Member, Professor Kumar
Bhattacharyya, is from Coventry & Warwickshire, being Professor of Engineering and
Head of the Warwick Manufacturing Group at the University of Warwick.
