New Company To Take Over At Kix96

Coventry radio station Kix 96 is to be taken over next week after being sold by its current owners.

CN Enterprises is to take the helm at the station on Monday after months of negotiations. It is thought that a new managing director could be installed.

Currently owned by the Murfin family, Kix 96 first hit the airwaves in August 1990. It is based in Watch Close in Spon End and has around 60,000 visitors a week.

The holding company, Murfin Music International Ltd, which has Muff Murfin as its chief executive, also has a radio station covering Hereford and Worcester and another in Shropshire.

CN has a variety of media interests around the country including The Bay in Morecambe and the North West Evening Mail in Barrow.

A smaller company owned by the group has also applied for a licence to operate a radio station in Kendal and Westmoreland in Cumbria.
