[06 AUG 98] SHORTLAND HORNE PRESS RELEASE
Shortland Horne Shows A Touch Of Class

Coventry estate agent Shortland Horne has scored a technological first with a revolutionary new selling aid.

The firm – the fastest growing estate agent in the county – has installed a new touch-screen television system which allows customers to view properties without leaving its New Union Street offices.

Potential purchasers can find properties on the full-colour system by selecting area, type of house or price band. They can then see internal colour photographs and read details.

Shortland Horne director Mark Sills said the new system is already proving a big hit with customers.

"It is really an extra selling dimension that gives customers a mid-way point between the traditional house details and a viewing. It is extremely easy to use and allows us to display larger internal photographs to give a fuller impression of properties.

"I am sure that customers will still want to take details away with them after finding a property on the new system but this gives them something just a little different. It is self explanatory and very easy to use.

"We looked at several systems before choosing this one and we have been very pleased. It is the only one of its type in Coventry and also allows us the potential of giving the public a 24-hour service. That will be something we look at when we move to our new city centre headquarters in Warwick Gate in the next month."
