[20 NOV 98] WEST MIDLANDS TRAVEL PRESS RELEASE
Coach Jumps On Buses

Travel West Midlands’ Coventry Garage has sponsored a unique venture which will see coaches boarding buses – but it won’t be a two vehicle scramble!

The region’s biggest bus Company has sponsored four local basketball coaches from the Coventry Crusaders Basketball team by giving each of them a free Annual Faresaver Travel Card worth nearly £300.

The Crusader Foundation Community Development Coaches – who also play for the team – coach pupils of all ages in schools around the Coventry and Warwickshire region.

Steve Jasper, Area manager at Coventry Garage said:

"The coaches travel to schools by bus and it seemed sensible to support the team by offering free travelcards. The coaches will now be able to literally jump an and off any Travel West Midlands bus as they travel around the region."

Robert ‘Dip’ Donaldson, Chairman of the Crusader Foundation said:

"We were delighted to be offered this kind of support. The lads concerned coach nearly 3,000 pupils every week but without local support of businesses like Travel West Midlands this number would be greatly reduced."

Steve Jasper will present the four coached – Milek Jivens, Rick Solvason, Robert Clarke and Alan Cox – with their travelcards on Thursday 26 November 1998 at 10.30am at Coventry Bus Garage, Wheatley Street.
