Are
you looking for new friends? Fed up with a lack of challenge? Coventry 18 Plus are looking
for new members and would like to invite all those interested to a New Members Night, on
Wednesday 19 May.
Eighteen Plus is a social and activities organization for young adults
aged 18 - 36. What we offer is basically what members want. The club is voluntarily run
for its members by its members - which gives everyone the chance to play a part creating
their ideal club.
Coventry members have recently taken part in: Paintball, Laser Quest,
Archery, Cinema, Video Nights, AMMO (Annual Mad Mini Olympics), It’s A Knockout,
Night Walks, Parties, Barbecues, Dances, Night Clubs, Bowling, Basketball, an
Entertainments Weekend in Norfolk and Pub Socials. The organisation claims to offer
something for everyone, including raising money for charity by madcap events, such as
camping over in Britain’s most haunted house, to supported training days - promoting
leadership, team-work and personal development.
Coventry 18 Plus is part of the National Federation of 18 Plus Groups.
Its aim is to encourage and motivate young adults to develop themselves socially,
physically and intellectually, within a national social network providing fun activities.
Frindship & Challenge!
Ever wanted to play a part in designing and developing your own
organization? This is your chance, as 18 Plus is open to all suggestions - join us and
help us provide Coventry with an club for young adults that will serve both them and your
community into the next millennium. This can only be done with the help of the young
adults of Coventry. We are looking at everything from ideas for events, volunteers for our
committee, the development of a new logo and building on the number of ambitious young
members we currently have.
Events Planned
Events to look forward to on this month's Club Programme include The
Rocky Horror Show, Day Trip to London, A Mock Trial (amateur dramatics, put on by the
club), 5-a-side Football, Cycle Ride & Video Night, A Weekend in Buxton and lots more
besides.
Where To Find Us
The group meets every Wednesday, from 8.45pm onwards at ‘ The Gas
Sports & Social Club’, Middlesborough Road, Coundon (rear of Central Fire
Station). Anyone interested in finding out more is welcome.
