Students To Design Stars' Dream Cars

Design students at Coventry University are getting ready to design dream cars for celebrities including Kevin Keegan, Carole Smillie and Sir Geoff Hurst.

The England manager, Changing Rooms star and 1966 World Cup hero are among those who have having their ideal car mocked up for them to raise money for charity.

The project is being organised by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), to raise money for BEN, the motor industry’s chosen charity.

Celebrities have been asked to submit their ideas and brief sketches for the car of their dreams.

These will be developed into final designs by students from Coventry University’s MA Automotive Design course and from the Royal College of Art in London.

The final results will be exhibited at the Motor Show at the NEC in Birmingham from 18-29 October.

Visitors will be able to bid for or win a piece of artwork by their favourite celebrity through a series of auctions and raffles.

The Coventry students will be working with the following celebrities:

Harmi Paneser - Kevin Keegan

Saharudin Bin Busri - Geoff Hurst

Mike Reynolds - Carol Smillie and Richard Burdon

Thomas Vasqerizo - Tom O’Connor and Sharron Davies

Muji Jaigirdar - David Moorcroft

Norhay Ate Che Daud - Diane Moran

Thomas Dale - Anton Edelman
