[18 JAN 99] UNIVERSITY OF WARWICK PRESS RELEASE
PGCE Teaching Information Day At Warwick Uni

Anyone looking for a change of career to a more challenging job will take great interest in the fact that there is still a national shortage of well qualified secondary teachers in Maths, Religious Education, Science, Information Technology, and even in Modem Languages.

The University of Warwick is mounting a special information day on Tuesday 26 January 1999 to show people how they may have the opportunity to change to a teaching degree through its one-year Postgraduate Certificate in Education. The programme has been a runaway success in employment terms around 93% of last year's students are currently in teaching posts and each year about 40% find jobs in the local area. Academically the course also excels as confirmed in Ofsted reports inspections in 1998.

The University welcomes applications for this course from good honours graduates with experience in other fields who may be looking for a career change, or returning after a career break: 44% of this year's intake is over 25. To register for the free information day call Mrs Joan Clark in the PGCE Office on OI203 524208.
