Friends Of The Earth Comes Back To Life

Coventry Friends of the Earth is attempting to get off the ground again after an absence of almost two years.

A meeting has been arranged this Thursday for any old or new members interested in starting the group up again.

The group dwindled to a halt two years ago after the co-ordinator moved out of the area.

Now a few old members have decided to give it a go again, and have already recruited some more people who are interested.

The meeting will be held on Thursday 11 January at 7.30pm at Coventry Peace House in Stoney Stanton Road.

John Walker, who lives in the house and is organising the meeting, said he was hopeful that there would be some interest.

He said:

“We’re trying to give it a focus.

“It will be interesting to see what people are interested in and what they would like to concentrate on.

“If there is a long list we may try and find one or two issues to concentrate on.

“We don’t know what to expect yet, but hopefully a few people will come along.”

People who want more information can ring the Peace House on 7666 3031
