[13 APR 00] FOLESHILL ORGANIC COMMUNITY GARDEN  NEWS
Seeds Sown For Community Garden

People living near a patch of unused land are being urged to get together to make a community garden.

A meeting is being held this weekend to discuss the organic venture on land near St Lawrence’s Church.

Residents who want to discuss the project, which has the backing of Coventry City Council can find out more on Saturday 15 April at 6pm in St Lawrence’s church hall.

The group behind the scheme, Foleshill Organic Community Garden, are planning to convert part of the one acre site for organic produce.

Another sections will be transformed into a natural area with wildflowers, a pond and trees.

John Walker, chair of the community group, said:

“We hope lots of people will come along to the meeting and join the group.

We are at the very beginning of an exciting scheme where we can share our time and skills in creating a garden which can be both productive and beautiful.”

Anyone interested who is unable to attend the meeting can contact John on 024 7666 3031
