[09 DEC 98] WARWICKSHIRE WILDLIFE TRUST PRESS RELEASE
Practical Conservation Help

Everyone is welcome at Warwickshire Wildlife Trust's programme of conservation work parties. There are many events where volunteers - experienced or not - will be able to join the vital work of the Trust's Green Teams. All of the work parties start at 10.00am unless otherwise stated.

Volunteers will have the chance to learn a variety of conservation skills at the same time as making friends with those sharing an interest in conservation. Children are also welcome to come along provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

12 December Harbury Spoilbank, Harbury Winter warmer scrub clearance
13 December Crackley Wood, Kenilworth Coppicing and woodland management
13 December Glasshouse Spinney, Kenilworth Woodland management
13 December Stoke Floods, Coventry Marsh management inc. coppicing blackthorn
13 December Alvecote Pools, Nr. Tamworth Access and glade management
16 December River Arrow, Alcester Come and tease the teasels again
17 December Priory Fields, Yardley Wood Heathland management
17 December Harbury Spoilbank, Harbury Winter warmer scrub clearance
17 December Wappenbury Wood, Nr. Princethorpe Ancient woodland management

Reserves Manager, Phil Clark said:

"The Trust relies heavily on local people looking after their local reserves. These volunteer teams carry out an invaluable job through their commitment and enthusiasm, and are always happy to welcome new volunteers."
