[27 JUN 98] Mayor or Coventry

I am researching my family history and have found one of my ancestors was once Mayor of Coventry by the name of Fennell. I would like to hear from anyone who has information about him or his family.

[27 JUN 98] Bagshaw & Horne Family Searches

Does anyone have connections with CEDRIC SPENCER HORNE alive in 1929? He is a cousin of ours. This is through the Grandchildren of SARAH SPENCER BAGSHAW, Bap Ansty, 1818. She moved away and married ROBERT HORNE, a Distiller in Surrey in 1871. My Great Grandma was one of her daughters, KATE ALICE HORNE 1856. Which brings me to the next question: does anyone know the person LEWIS HICKMAN HORNE born Shipston on Stour 1907? You see Kate married a CTW HICKMAN in 1882 in Surrey. It is quite a coincidence for a name to use Hickman as a forename together with Horne

[25 JUN 98] WebCam

Just a quick note to say thanks for the webcam views. It's neat to be able to see what the weather is doing before I phone my Mum, who lives just outside Coventry, from Canada

[24 JUN 98] Superb ...

I used to study in Coventry for 2 years and after graduating I am back in my country (Malaysia) . What I wanted to say is that Coventry's CWN homepage seems good because it gives people like us the chance to view the town we studied in. It keeps our memory of Coventry alive. So thank you for creating such a homepage...

[24 JUN 98] Boy Scout Silver Jubilee Concert - 19 May 1977

On Sunday 19 May 1977 the Senior Concert Band of the Port Arthur Collegiate Institute from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, performed in a local Coventry theatre in a live television broadcast celebrating the Silver Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II.

In 2002, the PACI Concert Band, under the direction of the same conductor, Mr Philip Cotton, is planning to re-visit England for the Golden Jubilee celebrations. A return to the Coventry area is planned. Can you assist us to re-connect with anyone who was involved in our first visit in 1977? We would be forever grateful, and who knows? Perhaps we'll meet in person in a little less than four year's time. Thanks for your on-line service. Hope you can help.
