[30 DEC 99] THE EARLY YEARS OF WHITLEY ABBEY SCHOOL

I went to Manor Park primary school (1952-55) in Coventry and then on to Whitley Abbey secondary school (1955-59). I left Coventry in 1996 and now live in Kidderminster.

It would be great to hear from anyone who attended during the initial years of the school.

[15 DEC 99] COMING HOME FOR THE MILLENNIUM

I am a Coventarian living in Sweden, and I am coming home for the millennium celebrations. However I would very much like to find some old dear friends whom I have not seen since 1984/5.

They are John Mara (Paddy) who was of Parkwood Lane, Canley, Coventry. Deborah Thomas last known at Thistley Fields in Coundon - I heard her family moved to the south coast, she had 2 brothers Glynn and Andy. Dave Shakespeare of Frederick Neale Avenue in Eastern Green - we were at Woodlands school together 1972-77.

We used to frequent pubs such as The D & T, Golden Cross, The Dive, The Bear and Waters Wine bar (both Barclays Bank now) and not forgetting the Lanch.

If anyone can give me a lead on where they are please answer!

Hi, my name is Anne Davies (née Chase).

I went to Cheylesmore Secondary School, Mile Lane - left in 1959.

You will need to get your parents or grandparents on this one. I can't remember surnames of some of my school friends but they might remember mine:

• Teachers, Miss Butcher (headmistress) and Mr Croucher

I worked at Rootes in Stoke Road in the Hollerith Department:

• Theresa Lilley (Rowe) - still in touch with her
• The Daykin twins Doreen and Shirley
• Loads of others

I lived in Styvechale until I married - then went south:

• Les Horne
• Pam Stanley and Owen
