[12 SEP 07] LOOKING FOR MY DAD'S FAMILY : BOURNE
I am trying to find out information on any members of my dad's family who come from Coventry

My grandad Horace Thomas Bourne and my grandma Elsie May Bourne lived in Colvelly Road No 60 in Coventry. My dad and his brother Jeffrey were born in the same house I think.

Any information would be great, as my dad passed away and I have lost contact with remaining family of his if any who still live there.

[03 SEP 07] JOHN GULSON School
I started to go to John Gulson School in 1940 during the war. The original school had been bombed so we were accommodated in Red Lane School, Toc H wing. Eventually, when the original school had been repaired, (ground floor only) we moved back.

I can vividly remember the school register up to my name. It went : AUSTIN, BAKER, BEASLEY, BEST, CLEWS, COLLETT, CUNNINGHAM, ELLIS, ENTWISTLE. I did not listen after my name had been called.

The headmaster was from the Channel Islands and his name was Pip Le Cain. I think that is how is was spelt. It was a long time ago and I wonder if anyone else from that time is about?
