The Guestbook is not just about finding old friends, you might also want to post questions about the local area or make comment on a visit to Coventry and Warwickshire. If you would like to post a message to the guestbook please send them to : editor@cwn.org.uk

NOTE : For any enquiries where someone is trying to find someone else we feel it better if you do know the people being sought to ask them first before passing on any information about them - remember they may not want to be found!

[26 JAN 09] COVENTRY BLITZ
Good coverage of the Coventry Blitz.

I visited an uncle there five years after the war. The whole centre of the city was a huge hole in the ground even then. Many of the surrounding buildings were hollow shells with false fronts.

I spent some of the war time training on Bofors anti-aircraft guns. NOT Bofurs. A Swedish company I believe.

[15 JAN 09] Looking for the Gaylard Family, Canley Road
We lived in Pilkington Road Canley for quite a few years,1974 - and then moved to Nuneaton 1982. My son Terry was born in 1976 and daughter Rebecca 1979. We used to go to the Mother and Toddler club in Earlsdon once a week.

After we moved up to Scotland we lost touch (around 1992) with the Gaylard family who had moved to Canley Road. The family were parents Cherry and Ray and then the children Anthony, Peter and Susan? Both Cherry and I were nurses and I remember that she did her midwifery training. We would love to get in touch and find out how everybody is.
