At a
meeting yesterday (24 March) between the Rover Dealer representatives and senior
executives at Rover, a constructive discussion on key franchise issues took place.
A number of questions were answered and others will be referred urgently to the BMW
Group. Additionally the dealer representative requested that the BMW Group quickly
facilitate a meeting with Alchemy Partners and this was agreed.
Both parties are encouraged by the strong customer support for the Rover and MG
products and its dealers. The RFB also stated that customer confidence is further ensured
by the competitive Rover Select finance packages, which guarantee a minimum residual value
a the end of the agreement.
Rover confirmed that from this weekend an advertising campaign will commence, stating
that customers can buy a Rover or MG with confidence. All Rovers and MGs are backed by a
three-year warranty that will be honoured. In addition, Rover will maintain the servicing
of all cars for at least 10 years and the Rover dealer network will continue to offer a
professional service to current and future customers.
