[2 NOV 98] COVENTRY CITY COUNCIL PRESS RELEASE
The Annual Poppy Appeal

Coventry’s Lord Mayor, Maggie Rosher is inviting all citizens of the city to join in an act of remembrance for those who lost their lives whilst serving their country. The annual Remembrance Day Service and parade will take place on Sunday 8 November.

The parade will commence at 10.00am and will move off from Spencer Avenue. At 10.55am the parade will reach the Memorial Park for a service conducted by the Bishop of Coventry, The Rt. Reverend Colin Bennetts and supported by the Roman Catholic Dean, Father Patrick Kilgarriff and the President of the Coventry Free Federal Church Council, Mr Derek Noel. A further service will take place at Communal Grave, London Road Cemetery at 3.30pm.

Cllr Maggie Rosher says,

"I urge all local people to come and join me to pay their respects to the men and women who lost their lives whilst serving their country. Our city in particular owes a great deal to them."
