[12  NOV 98] COVENTRY CITY COUNCIL PRESS RELEASE
Asian Language Sessions Arranged For Explaining The Coventry Development Plan

Asian language speakers are invited to special sessions with Council Planning Officers and interpreters to discuss the Coventry Development Plan and the changes it outlines for the city.

Cllr Mrs Sheila Collins, Chair of the Planning policy Team, said today:

"The issues covered in the Coventry Development Plan such as transport, housing, shopping, leisure, and jobs are important for every person living in Coventry. These special sessions for people who communicate best in Asian languages will help to explain the impact of the Plan and give answers to any questions. I encourage people to come along and have their say on Coventry’s future."

The meetings will take place at Stoke Library on Tuesday 17 November, 11.30am – 2.30pm and 5 – 7pm and Foleshill Library on Tuesday 24 November, 11.30am – 2.30pm and 5 – 7pm and displays showing the impact of the Coventry Development Plan will form a basis for the discussions. The deadline for comments is 16 December.

The Coventry Development Plan guides the development of land in the city, outlines future transport strategies and describes environmental proposals up to the year 2011.
