[31 MAR 00] WARWICKSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL PRESS RELEASE
Open Evening At Lower Meadow, Stratford

Stratford's Lower Meadow Home for Older People is holding an open evening on Tuesday (4 April) for local people interested in a career in caring.

The Warwickshire Social Services home, in Drayton Avenue, Stratford, is inviting local people to drop in between 6pm and 8pm, chat to staff about the work they do and have a look around the home.

Manager Rachel Kenyon said:

"The aim of the evening is to highlight our work and raise awareness of career opportunities at Lower Meadow. The open evening is aimed at local people who are interested in working with older people, who feel that they have something to offer, or who are looking to start or re-start work.

"In our experience there are a lot of naturally caring people living locally who don’t even think of themselves as carers. These are people who are bringing up or have brought up families, cared for relatives or are kind and supportive to friends and neighbours.

"As many of our residents are local people it is nice for them to have staff who are local or who know the area well."
