[18 NOV 98] WARWICKSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL PRESS RELEASE
Wanted - Views On Childcare In Warwickshire

Warwickshire County Council – on behalf of the Warwickshire Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership – we want to hear the views of parents and employers on the provision of childcare in Warwickshire.

In May the Government launched its National Childcare Strategy which aims to improve the quality of childcare for children up to 14 years, whilst making it more accessible and affordable to parents.

Elizabeth Featherstone, from the County Council, explains:

"If you are a parent of a child up to 14 years of age, then we want to hear from you. What kind of childcare do you want or what stops you from using childcare? Please take the time to give us your views as fully as possible; they are important and will be used to shape local plans for childcare.

"Equally we also want to hear from employers. For example we would be interested if they offered childcare in the workplace as an employee benefit. Or do they think it would hinder getting the job done? Alternatively some employers may want to offer this but are unable to. Whatever your views we want to hear them!"

If you would like to give your views telephone our 24 hour answerphone on 01926 412408 to request reply-paid survey form.
