Coventry City Reserves 3
Watford Reserves 2

Bosnian centreback Mo Konjic put himself in the frame for Sunday’s Premiership match at Tottenham when he scored the reserves’ injury time winner against Watford.

Strachan had to field a much weakened side because of injuries to senior players higher up the ladder and they trailed by 2-0 after half an hour’s play.

Barry Ferguson’s mishit back pass presented Alexandre Bonnot with a simple tap in after five minutes. Then after thirty minutes Dominic Foley scored from close range from a centre by Tommy Smith.

Paul Hall reduced the arrears three minutes from the interval when he headed home Barry Quinn’s free kick and Coventry then dominated the second period.

Marcus Hall levelled the scores with a quality strike from thirty yards which screamed into the top corner and then with the seconds slipping away big Konjic moved upfield and dived to head home Craig Strachan’s low cross from the right.

It was the reserves’ first victory of the season and Marcus Hall and Konjic impressed the watching manager.
