Carlton Palmer has had a transfer request accepted by Coventry City.

The midfielder, linked with the recent manager’s vacancy at Huddersfield Town, has cited “logistical reasons” behind his motive for leaving.

The 34-year-old, who has recently been outspoken at the club’s performances, has told manager Gordon Strachan that commuting from Sheffield is becoming too difficult.
