The
Coventry Crusader Ladies started the 2000/2001 season with a victory
over Atherstone B.
The
Ladies are in the Leicestershire League Division One, which is split
into two conferences. The Ladies are presently in Conference B with
six other teams in the Leicester area.
The
Ladies were led to the win by Jordi Freementle and Debbie Mann, who
scored 19 and 18 points respectively.
Also
in double figures were Hayley Burdett with 12 points and Valerie
Hervieux with 10 points. Kiran Banga also chipped in 4 points for the
Crusader Ladies.
The
team played extremely well together and relied on tough defence
towards the end to pull ahead and beat the Atherstone team safely by
19 points.
Coach
Tiffany Mitchell said:
“I
am very proud of the girls and thrilled to be able to coach such
enthusiastic girls who love to play the game.
“They
all played very tough and aggressive and deserved to win.”
