[20 JUL 98] COVENTRY CRUSADERS PRESS RELEASE
Support From Global Self Drive

Global Self Drive has recently agreed to support the Coventry Crusaders Basketball by providing a minibus for the Community Development programme.

The minibus will be used to transport development coaches to some of the 37 primary schools, youth clubs and after-school clubs that the Crusaders attend.  The minibus will also used for other Crusader teams such as the boys u15, u17 and u19, senior mens, girls u15, u17 and u19 and ladies, and to transport the players to games and practice sessions.  It will increase the opportunities for many children in Coventry and Warwickshire who would usually rely on parents or public transport.   Sportsmatch was granted helping to pay for the minibus.

A spokesperson from Global Self Drive said:

"It is a great opportunity for Global Self Drive to support the Coventry Crusaders Basketball Community Development Programme and help the community in providing a vehicle, which will be put to good use."

Dip Donaldson said:

"The Crusaders have needed this facility for a long time and it means we provide more opportunities for children who may not have access to travel facilities.  It will also give a quicker and more efficient service to the schools and clubs involved in the development programme."
