[13 NOV 98] ATHERSTONE UNITED NEWS
Grantham Town v Atherstone United  - Preview
[DR MARTENS LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION]

Atherstone United could move into second place in the Premier Division behind their big rivals tomorrow.  They need to overcome Grantham Town, and Gresley Rovers and Ilkeston Town need to lose their matches.

Gresley currently hold the runners-up spot and Ilkeston are third while Atherstone lie in fourth place. The right combination of results would put United right on the heels of their big rivals Nuneaton Borough, who have a big lead at the top.

United go to Grantham on the back of four successive victories over Merthyr Tydfil, Cheslyn Hay, Burton Albion and Nuneaton Borough.

But manager Ron Bradbury refuses to make any predictions. He said:

"I was particularly pleased with the result against Burton Albion. It was a great result and we played well but the cup-tie against Nuneaton was only the first leg. We have to go to Borough on the 24th for the second leg, so in reality it is only half time."

Bradbury expects to include Paul Olner in his squad after his holiday in Portugal, but says:

"There is no guarantee he will come straight back into the team. The lads who played against Burton did exceptionally well."
