VS Rugby v Bilston Town - Preview
[DR MARTEN'S MIDLANDS DIVISION]

VS Rugby go in search of their first double of the season when they entertain third-placed Bilston Town on Saturday.

Bilston had not lost at home and VS had not recorded a win on their travels when Sockett’s men chalked up a 4-2 win their early in the campaign. He would happily settle for a repeat scoreline.

VS triumphed 2-0 in the League Cup against Hinckley at the weekend, stretching their successful run to five wins out of six games and only defeat in the last nine outings.

To top that, Sockett has no injury doubts and only midfielder Chris Evans will be missing through work commitments.

Sockett said:

"Bilston are riding high but we are in really good form at the moment and have to make sure we keep it going. The win we had against them in October was very welcome at the time, now we need it for different reasons – we want to keep climbing up the table."

And Sockett spared a thought for his former club Racing Warwick this week after manager Martin Bewell resigned.

He said:

"I am due to contact Keith Billington, who has taken over, and if there is anything we can do to help then we will be happy to. We want as many local teams in the league as possible."
