Coventry's New Millennium Calendar

You’ve had the party, you’ve got the hangover and you’re desperately trying to remember what else Millennium year holds in store.

Fret no more. Coventry’s new Millennium calendar details all the important dates for the year 2000. And gives you something stunning to look at too.

The 12-month calendar contains details of all the important public events in Coventry in Millennium year, from Pentecost 2000 to the Mystery Plays, from Godiva Festival to the International Church Music Festival.

Coventry’s first contemporary calendar contains 12 superb modern views of the city, from glorious medieval Bayley Lane to ultra-modern Warwick Arts Centre. And there’s a few facts that you perhaps didn’t know about these places thrown in too.

Complementing the calendar is a new series of 12 postcards to be produces by the city of Coventry, for the city of Coventry.

The calendar and postcards go on sale at Coventry’s Tourist Information Centre, Bayley Lane, this Saturday (29 May) priced £4.99 for the calendar and 15p each for the postcards.

Jenny Neal, Tourist Information centre Manager said:

"It’s great to see stunning contemporary views of the city. Visitors like to buy pictures of the sights they have seen and I think that these postcards and calendars will go along way towards improving the city’s image and prove popular not just with tourists, but with locals too.

"So much Coventry merchandise mourns the Coventry we have lost, but I think these images will rightly encourage Coventrians to be proud of the city we live in today."

NOTES
The photographs used in the calendar and postcards have been taken by ex-Coventry Evening Telegraph photographer, Jason Tilley and ex-Coventry University student Andrew Paterson, the calendar was designed by Coventry and Warwickshire Promotions and printed by Coventry based Reynolds Press – making the calendars and postcards a truly Coventry product.

The project has been sponsored by Jaguar Cars Ltd, Coventry University, Coventry City Council’s Development Directorate and the University of Warwick.
